About Inspirations Writer's Group
"Writing can be a lonely, unrewarding business and to continue to write after receiving numerous rejection letters is even harder."
Independantly published award-winning international author, Carol M. Salter, set up Inspirations Writers Group in 2010 in her own time to support writers, like her, who were struggling to become published. Members come from all over East Kent including Canterbury, Dover, Ashford and Faversham to attend this worthwhile and valued community group which meets on the 4th Saturday of every month (except December when we celebrate with a Xmas lunch).
The group meets to support, inform and educate writers about all aspects of writing, from elements of writing like character-building, point of view and continuity, to finding an agent and publishing services.
One of our main commitments is to encourage and support writers in becoming published, in whatever medium or style they favour. With this aim in mind, members are able to submit pieces/stories to our Anthologies for publication (appropriate to our ethos). Currently we have five anthologies published: Red (Finalist in Kent Creatives Awards 2017) Yellow, Orange, Green, (Winner of the National Denise Robertson Anthology Award NAWG 2021) & Blue, released May 2021.
We are currently producing Indigo, with plans for several more anthologies in the pipeline. This, and membership to the National Association of Writers Group, are just two of the amazing benefits of being a member of this dedicated group.
Our thanks go to the Thanet Library service for their continued support providing us somewhere to meet each month. They know the value of literacy.
